One time up at the Oban Express yard, my old man was doing a Saturday shift, but had to load the van prior to his run. I went along to help with the deliveries. Walker was in this day and he said for me to go on the forklift. I was aged between 10-14 at this point, and getting to ride the forklift on my own was a huge thrill. 


Things were going swimmingly for about half an hour, i had even made a wee track with crates, when suddenly i lost concentration and was forks forward heading towards a HGV tyre. I full turned this forklift and managed to miss the HGV altogether, but instead crunching against one of the sprinter type vans, causing a huge (felt like huge anyway) yellow scratch along the rear bumper of this van! 
my old man was raging, probably at the thought of losing his days wage and more to pay for this. he made me go into the office to tell Walker. 


I told him what had happened, and said i was sorry. Walker’s response, “Foxy, Jimmy drives that van, and he will be battering it off walls on Monday morning after the weekend hes had anyway, i will just blame him, dont worry about it!”
